Summer Fun

So now that school has been out, I've been able to play with my cardmaking and even trying new techniques. The one at left used alcohol inks and heat embossing. I really like the alcohol inks! I'm using them on mat paper, painted with metallic acrylic paint (gold, pearl or silver) and then inked. I think my christmas cards will be done in similar fashion.

This one I scrap lifted from a Stampin Up demonstrator. I have been using my watercolor pencils a lot also. I've always enjoyed coloring though! So that is just some of what I'm doing for the summer.

The rain this summer has been the biggest talk of the town - the Floods of 2007! Whoa! Actually it's pretty impressive to see what wrath Mother Nature can cause. She has seen to it that the "creek" that encompasses our little community has almost cut us off from the rest of the county as it runs out of its sleepy bed and over the highways in & out of "town". At least most of the community is above flood range so I don't think we've had a lot of damage the rest of the county has. There is now threat that Lake Texoma may hit flood-stage. While we've been "dry" the last few days, West & North of the Red River haven't been so lucky and waters are rushing this way. Texoma hasn't actually flooded since 1990 so this may be an exciting week (actually they are looking for it to crest after the 4th & probably a lot after since the rains haven't let up).

I also have a computer class I'm looking forward too - on Dreamweaver. I know, BORRING, but see, I actually taught myself enough to get a website up and to standards and this class is 3 full days so I'm really excited because I'll get to learn all the stuff a skimmed over or I taught myself so well... well, I'm betting it's the first. Either way, it will be way cool.
