Thanksgiving Weekend

After being sick for the last two weeks - either a cold or sinuses it's Thanksgiving weekend already! It's been a busy one too. DS came home Tuesday night instead of Wednesday a.m.. That was great since the weather was changing for the worst. We picked him up at his friends house and had a nice visit with them. It was wonderful outside, as we stood and chatted, realizing that the next day a winter storm was coming in. DH and I had an adventure for dinner at the Shrimp Shack a great mix of seafood mexican style. We will have to make the trip back one day.

Wednesday DS and I piddled around the house. I finished up the gift bags I'm making & DS worked on his cars, something I think he misses being away at school. We did clear the garage from the T-Bird we were storing for a friend. He finally got it back, whether he was ready or not. Only a few race cars to get rid of and we may actually have a car/person! Thursday wasn't much more exciting. DH & DS worked on the retaining wall and finished it up. It looks really nice & I guess now I go to work landscaping it and the dry creek bed. Pictures will follow - eventually. I cooked a nice "small" Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, stuffing, spinach. Of course, the night before I had made a large batch of chicken stock since DS had requested that too. At least he took some back with him (chicken soup not turkey). We did have lots of invites out but having been sick the last 2 weeks, I didn't want to inflict anyone with whatever I had.

Friday! We went to the Stars game! It's been too long since I saw a live hockey game and it was great! It was the first time to go to the AA Center, first time to ride DART and first time to see the Stars. I fell in love with Hockey when the RedWings and Black Hawks played in Dallas/Fort Worth. We went a a lot of their games while I was in HS & later after I married, we went to the Fire & Ice games at Fair Park. Now I have to watch it on TV and occasionally get a live game.

The rest of the weekend was re-couping and getting ready for the week to come. DS left for school so I will probably need to go clean up his room and find things to give away. Hubby is couch sitting, his knees hurting from the work and weather changes. He's also enjoying his new plasma TV we purchased from my earnings at the speedway.

Things I'm thankful for:
All our friends. I don't know what I would do without them and their support.

My DS. Even though he tries me at times, he's a good kid and tries to do the right thing.

My DH. My best friend, my confidant, my love. I can't believe we've been married as long as we have since we've had such fun. I can't imaging being with anyone else.
