It has been a very long week, starting with TAKS on Tuesday. There is more stress in our little building from that one test than the previous 6 weeks produced. Even our Kindergarteners to 2nd graders felt the stress and they aren't being tested. It shouldn't be this way but it is and I'm sure every public school in Texas suffers with the stress. The rest of the week was more relaxed at least, but it has been a long week anyway. What's bad is we do it again in April.
Allis seems to be recovering nicely. She has gained weight since her diagnosis and we've reduced the steroid that helped increase her appetite & she is still eating. Yeah! Poor Casee has to endure Allis getting more food and more attention all this time and she's being really good about it. She sits with me while we watch Allis eat and there are times I think she growls at Allis to tell her to eat when she tries to walk away. Of course, Casee gets to eat what little crumbs Allis leaves behind and she gets an occasional treat but that's about it.
School is getting better. I'm not stressing out as much during the week now that I realize I was overdoing the homework. I do have a book report due the first week of April and collaboration project due in May. Some of the communication projects have been easy and others a little more detailed but I'm handling it and work. Gil helps by cooking at least once a week and Andy brings dinner home on occasion. TV dinners haven't gone out of style in my home either.
On the family side, my paternal aunt passed away this weekend and Andy's paternal uncle is not doing well. My dad celebrated his 80th this month also. It's been an interesting first week of March!
